Ok, so I’ve been slacking on my posts a little bit lately- I’ve been wanting to get this one up for a few weeks now. Better late than never, right?
We’ll just say that my cute little niece Izzy gets to celebrate her first birthday for a full month!
I was assigned to make cupcakes for Izzy’s birthday party. Funny- I just noticed that her t-shirt matched the cupcakes perfectly!
I went with chocolate cupcakes and pink frosting of course:
I followed Mara’s recipe for Hershey’s Perfect Chocolate Cake.
I tried to make her frosting as well- but that didn’t work out so well for me! I think patience is the key to that frosting. And I have none of that…
I ended up going with a standard vanilla frosting, and made it pink!
These cupcakes turned out looking like beautiful flowers completely by accident and a little experimenting.
I was really proud of how these turned out!
I also threw a few leftover vanilla cupcakes on the tray.
I’d like to say that everyone enjoyed these cupcakes.
But unfortunately, the birthday girl wasn’t really into them.
This would be Izzy wiping the frosting on the table! She’s such a cutie that I forgave her for that.
Oh well. Happy Birthday Izzy!!!!!
